Durisol Gets Top Marks for Green School Building

Durisol’s eco-friendly wall forming system is helping to cut the lifetime carbon footprint of a single-storey extension at Caen Community Primary School in the village of Braunton, Devon. Assembled by construction company Morgan Ashurst, the new building’s external and internal walls consisted entirely Durisol modular units – a cement-bonded building product which is manufactured from 80% recycled wood fibre, and itself completely recyclable. • British engineers have developed a new environmentally friendly cement that is carbon-negative

  Work has now started on the local cricket pavilion at Lode just north of Cambridge and is progressing well above DPC level.
  Work is progressing so well that in a day, one person was able to stack 70m2 of the D300/120 walling units! It will not be long before the cricketers can start to use the clubhouse for the new season.
  
  
• Hector's Build
  
  Semi detached houses in Crumlin, not far from the Durisol factory, are now reaching completion with a lime render finish from Lime Works of Gloucester. The houses to a Persimmon design used the D300/120 walling unit giving a Category 'B' rating for both Energy Efficiency and Environmental Impact giving running costs of approximately £6 per week.
  This could have been further improved by the use of the D365 unit with U values of 0.19
