At Ecobuild, Durisol UK will be demonstrating the latest developments in its Durisol wall form system - a durable, eco-friendly solution for interior and exterior walls that can help reduce a building’s carbon footprint. Construction times are also reduced using this innovative system - the interlocking modular units are simply dry-stacked, with no need for mortar or bricklaying skills, and then filled with concrete to create solid walls with excellent thermal and sound insulation. A proven solution for a wide range of building applications, Durisol UK has recently invested in new production facilities at Crumlin in Wales to satisfy increasing demand.

Visitors to Durisol’s stand at Ecobuild will be able to see four new additions to the wall form range. Manufactured from a unique combination of 80% recycled wood fibre bonded with Portland cement, the hollow wall units include internal and party wall forms, and two sizes of external wall form with integrated Rockwool mineral fibre insulation, a green material in itself. Furthermore, the Rockwool insulation lies against the exterior face of the wall, so the majority of the thermal mass of the structure is on the inner face, where it provides the greatest benefit.

Sustainable building is no longer simply a desirable option, it’s a necessity, says John Flower, Durisol UK’s National Sales Manager. “With the Durisol wall form system we’re offering the industry a totally ‘green’ building product in terms of its own manufacture and its contribution to a building’s energy efficiency rating. The wall units also have very low embedded energy and are fully recyclable.
